Chinese New Year- Year of the Monkey

The boys and I went to check out the Lunar Fest near the Vancouver Art Gallery. Since the forecast said it was going to rain all weekend, we checked it out on a cloudy Friday afternoon. We made fortune cookie crafts, ate egg puffs, did some monkey hunt quests and watched Taiwanese folk dancers.

Catfe- Cat Cafe

We were excited to check out Catfe. It is a cat cafe that opened in December but due to popularity we booked a reservation for January. Earlier that week all the cats had been adopted but luckily they got new cats in the day before we visited. We ate some cat themed treats, pet lots of kitties and played a card game called Exploding Kittens which was created by The Oatmeal, one of my favorite web comics. Sage really wants a cat when he gets older. He says he wants a nice looking one and not the deformed or injured ones that I am partial to.

Chocolate Crepes for Breakfast

Dagan turned nine! We had a couple of weeks of celebrating starting with crepes for breakfast, Brooklyn pizza with Dad for lunch,  Earl's for dinner with a huge ice cream sundae and cake for dessert decorated in the style of his favorite video game. On Wednesday after swim class we went to Menchie's and ate frozen yogurt with his friend Connor and Connor's mom, grandma, little sister and Sarah the swim coach. We finished up the partying with Magi Quest and waterslides at Great Wolf Lodge and lunch with family at Olive Garden.
