Rescue Rangers in French
Tic et Tac
I believe it's important for kids to be exposed to another language, any language. They learned some French at Yaletown Montessori and I want to continue their exposure to French. Because one of Canada's official languages is French, it is printed on every package and sign. I took three years of high school French and was in the French club. Though I don't speak it very well, I can understand a little...well enough to point out an easy noun here or there.
We rented the Professor Toto DVD at the library. It's funny and quirky with a little white haired professor whose eyes roll around in his head teaching elementary words. The kids find it entertaining and they are excited that they know their colors and numbers from school.
They really love chip and dale so we found that Chip and Dale in French are named Tic et Tac. We printed out the lyrics in French and they like to sing along. We were not able to find the Rescue Rangers episodes in French but we did find some Chip and Dale and Donald Duck ones on Youtube.
If they continue showing interest in French, I'd like to sign them up for a class or find them some friends who speak French.
