Vancouver Chess School

The boys are taking chess lessons at the Vancouver Chess School. They are in the pawn level and enjoying it even though it is easy for them. On Friday nights the school invites their students to play against each other. The boys went last week and had a great time. Dagan built some chess inspired legos.

Weekly Baking Project- Cake Ice Cream Cones

The little pastry chefs made cake ice cream cones this week. Sage saw a picture in the Bakerella cake pops book that inspired him. Though I knew it would be more than a one day project, we went ahead with it anyway and had a lot of yummy fun. The boys measured, mixed and baked the yellow cake from scratch. They crumbled the cake and rolled it into balls. Sage had fun slicing the ice cream cones with a large serrated knife. They melted the candy melts and dipped the cake balls. They sprinkled with jimmies and placed m&ms. These cones were fun to eat and to share with friends at the park.
