Recently I found a love for playing the ocarina. The boys have tried them out as well as a German recorder that I purchased from the music store. The plastic ocarina is o.k. for the kids as it sounds decent and is sturdy. I bought my own expensive ceramic ocarina that sounds better but I let them play on it as well if they show interest. The house is often filled with ocarina music, songs I like to play are Concerning Hobbits from Lord of the Rings and the theme song from Totoro.
