Strawberry Shortcakes

We made our own strawberry shortcakes and had Lola over for a play date. The kids improved their piping bag techniques and even Pooh joined in on the yummy fun.

Guy Fawkes Day

Guy Fawkes Day is the only day New Zealanders are allowed to play fireworks. We bought some sparklers and pizza from our favourite pizza place, Hell Pizza. Our lighter broke and August had to go to the store but they didn't have any lighters so he bought matches instead. Sage had so much fun lighting them. We saw bigger fireworks in the distance from our house, some coming from the beach.

Athletics Day

The boys had an athletics day and I had the opportunity to watch the events. There was high jump, long jump, quoits (throwing rings like a discus), vortex (throwing a flying football), games, and sprints. The boys both liked high jump the best.

Happy Halloween!

Since we got so much candy from the fair, we passed on trick- or - treating this year. Instead, we celebrated by making Halloween sugar cookies. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for sending us the pumpkin cookie cutter, recipe, towel, mitt and spatula set. We put it to good use. I also drew Halloween themed post its for their lunch boxes.

Rainbow Cupcakes

We had a great time at the fair! The boys had the most fun winning candy by playing lots of games. Sage won free movie tickets from the boot toss. We had sausages, pet farm animals, bounced in the bouncy house, checked out toys and things for sale,  ate sweets and ran into lots of school friends. Dagan volunteered his time passing out maps. I made cupcakes for the bake sale. Even though it was cloudy and a bit chilly at times, we had fun.
