Sunset Beach
Summer in Vancouver is sunny, warm and beautiful, a great time to be outdoors. One of the boys' favorite activities is going to George Wainborn Park. It's just down the street from us. They love biking down the grassy hill, playing tag in the field, climbing on the playground structures and jumping and climbing around the fountain.
Another place they like to go is Sunset Beach. Each time we go there they make up a new game that involves, sand, water and pine cones. They observe the sea birds, collect shells and bottle caps and we have a picnic lunch. We watch boats, wake boarders, kayakers and sometimes make some new friends.
On Fridays we listen to live music at the CBC musical nooners free concerts. This summer we heard a Mongolian band, Irish band and Blues/Swing band. The boys love to get up and dance in front of the stage doing cartwheels and handstands. They even bow to the audience when the song is over. It's fun also because the Montessori school goes on Fridays as well so the boys get to chat with the teachers and see their old friends.
