The country we are studying this month is India. We learned about the sacred cows, watched various means of transportation, ordered Indian food, learned about the Taj Mahal and about Holi the festival of colors. We listened to music from India and watched a little bit of Bollywood singing and dancing. We read an article in a magazine about strawberry pickers who work here who are from India, while we were waiting in the dentist office. We observed people wearing turbans around town and saris. Next weekend is Diwali the festival of light. We are planning to go to the Roundhouse to participate in the celebrations.
