We made chocolate hot cross buns this afternoon. The boys helped with the measuring and mixing of the dough. We talked about yeast and watched the dough rise. They helped cut the dough and chocolate into pieces and roll them into balls tucking the chocolate into the middle of each ball. And they piped the crosses onto the buns. They had as much fun eating them as making them all the while singing, "Hot cross buns. Hot cross buns. One and penny, two a penny. Hot cross buns."
